Upgrade Your Home Office: 5 Essentials!

Upgrade Your Home Office: 5 Essentials!

As working from home looks set to be with us for a few more months, now is the time to give your home office a New Year revamp.

Whether you are using the kitchen table or have a dedicated desk – there are some key essentials to ensure you have a happy and healthy home-work space.

1. Desk Lamp

Desk Lamps are particularly important at this time of year – the days are often dull and lighting levels reduce dramatically by 4:00. You will need a targeted light source at your work station to make sure you can effectively see what you need to do.

Desk lamps can also add a touch of glamour, or style, to your desk space so choose something that will bring a smile to your face.

This grey and bronze one should do the trick – with a lovely curved neck and a retro shade, it is a budget friendly option to brighten up your desk.

2. A Good Chair

If you haven’t invested in one already, you really should. Good posture is so important.

Long hours stooped over your desk will bring on back problems which are tricky to get rid of. Prevention is definitely better than the cure here.

Look into ergonomic desk chairs – these will have adjustable seat heights, depth and lumbar support to make sure you are fully supported.

A few good tips to follow:

  • Your eyes should be level with the top of your computer screen
  • Shoulders should be relaxed
  • Lower arms parallel to the floor
  • Feet flat on the floor
3.Wireless Headset

This is particularly useful if you are on the phone all the time. Holding a handset will put strain on both your hands and your shoulders, so never sit in this position for long.

A wireless headset gives you the freedom to move around, and ensures you keep good posture.

It will also help to minimise any outside noises that will distract you – so you can focus on your calls.

4. Water Bottle

Hydration is mega important – it will keep you on top of your game!

The best thing to do is to fill up a bottle with water at the start of your day and keep it on your desk – you are then more likely to reach for it throughout the day.

5. Awesome Stationery

And finally… while you have no stationery cupboard to raid at work, go big on your own stationery at home.

Find something that suits your style and it will bring a smile to your face. Jazzy notebooks, funky pens, neon sticky notes… whatever works for you.

We love motivational stationery which inspires productivity and positivity!

This bundle gets us in the right frame of mind, and has all the stuff you need (desk planner, to-do pad and journal)!
